The general idea of the 30 Rock show: Liz Lemon, head writer of the sketch comedy show "TGS with Tracy Jordan", must deal with an arrogant new boss and a crazy new star, all while trying to run a successful TV show without losing her mind.

 

Details about 30 Rock Seasons 1-5 DVD: It begins with the comedy series The Girlie Show. As the season progresses, the episodes become less about TGS and more about how the characters deal with juggling their lives and their jobs —specifically the protagonist, Liz Lemon, but other characters are also explored. During season 2, Jack develops a relationship with a Democratic congresswoman named Celeste "C.C." Cunningham (Edie Falco). They later break up. Season 5 focuses on Liz Lemon's continuing relationship with Carol Burnett (Matt Damon), Jack's start into fatherhood with fiancée Avery (Elizabeth Banks), struggling with the merger of NBCUniversal with Kabletown.

  Pretty well. "30 Rock" is an example of the rare brilliant comedy that is not going to appeal to the masses. It's too frenetic, filled with lightning quick wit.

  The show did some good work showing how that friendship has evolved after five years, "30 Rock" isn't a show that takes its characters or its emotions seriously, but it usually invests the Jack/Liz friendship.

  The show started off as very funny from the very beginning, but it evidenced one of the marks of a good show. The acting is wonderful as the cast was assembled well and I must add that Alec Baldwin is just so funny its shocking.

  The show leaned more heavily on the Jack/Liz friendship than ever, made Tracy more prominent with his quest to win an Oscar. But I didnt get the Ken/Jack thing. "30 Rock" made me laugh longer and louder than other comedy shows.
