Heroes is an American science fiction television drama series created by Tim Kring that appeared on NBC for four seasons from September 25, 2006 through February 8, 2010.
The series tells the stories of ordinary people who discover superhuman abilities, and how these abilities take effect in the characters’ lives.
The series emulates the aesthetic style and storytelling of American comic books, using short, multi-episode story arcs that build upon a larger, more encompassing arc.
The show has garnered a number of awards and nominations, including Primetime Emmy Awards, Golden Globes, People’s Choice Awards and British Academy Television Awards.
In a 2011 interview with New York magazine about the new graphic novel “Mr. Murder Is Dead”, Zachary Quinto admits that he is a “gay man”. Quinto also explains on his own blog that playing a gay man Louis Ironson who abandons his AIDS-stricken boyfriend in the off-Broadway play “Angels in America” helped him realize how lucky he was to be a gay man in this generation.
In addition, the “Star Trek” actor discussed the rumors about his sexuality after he successfully portrayed homosexual character in “Angels in America” stage production. The star wrote about the starring as the “most challenging thing I’ve ever done as an actor, and the most rewarding” and “At the same time, as a gay man, it made me feel like there’s still so much work to be done, and there’s still so many things that need to be looked at and addressed.”
Hollywood director Brett Ratner has apologised for using an epilepsy joke to help promote his new film 'Tower Heist' starring Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller.
A trailer for the new action comedy included a scene where Murphy’s character mocks Stiller’s character by calling him a ‘little seizure boy’. The clip upset Heroes star Greg Grunberg who has an epileptic son.
Grunberg used his Twitter account to express his anger at the jokey reference to the illness and called for a boycott of the new $100m film. Ratner, who has been chosen to direct the 2012 Oscar’s ceremony, was told about the boycott threat and contacted Grunberg to apologise.
I am so sorry you are offended. ... I sincerely feel bad, Ratner wrote to Grunberg. He also asked the studio distributing the film to remove the offensive jokes from TV adverts due to be shown promoting the film.
After receiving the apology from Ratner, Grunberg tweeted the news with a message to the director.
